A close view of the port side of the bow of the British India Steam Navigation Company passenger/cargo liner Karanja (1948) in Hughes Dry Dock, Alexandra Dock, Bombay. She is undergoing a minor refit and the photographer is on the dockside looking to starboard showing the upper part of the bow and the ship's name. The port anchor and chain have been removed from the hawse which is surrounded by rust. Two workmen are squatting on the dockside either side of a lifted metal cover and are possibly repairing a fitting that has been exposed. Transparencies numbers P63922CT to P63930CT were taken on the same occasion.
