A port bow view of the British India Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Chakdara (1951) working cargo in Tilbury Dock, Essex. The photographer is on the bow of a lighter looking aft and to starboard showing the line of steel lighters between the ship and the quay. The nearest lighter is owned by Vokins & Co. Ltd and contains a large number of wheels fitted with rubber tyres, wooden crates consigned to Ghandara Industries Ltd of Karachi and a number of shaped steel girders. A pallet of boxes is being swung towards number three hold amidships. The ship's bow and foremast are out of the picture. Transparencies numbers P80000CT to P80028CT were taken on the same occasion.
