The photographer is on the quayside close alongside the stern looking forward showing the Hyster fork lift truck number 147 of the Melbourne Harbour Trust with a pallet loaded with drums of Phthalylsulfathiazole. Two stevedores are connecting slings to the pallet ready for it to be lifted aboard into number 5 or number 6 hold of the Nuddea. A pallet containing a different sort of drums is being hoisted to number 4 hold.
