HMS Liverpool (1980) rolled out at Cammell Laird's Birkenhead yard prior to launching.
An elevated starboard quarter view of the Type 42 guided missile destroyer HMS Liverpool (1980) rolled out from the covered building yard at Cammell Laird Shipbuilders Limited's Birkenhead yard prior to launching on 25 September 1980. The covered building yard in the background enables the ships to be built under cover in sections and then, after being joined, are progessively pushed out of the building by 556-tonne hydraulic rams.
