A man creating an eye in the end of a wire rope in the R. & H. Green & Silley Weir rope section building in the Royal Albert Dock, London. The wire is held in a bench vice so that the eye is below the jaws of the vice and he is using a marlin spike on the upper strands The main strands have been unwound to reveal about 14 individual wires. He is wearing a blue boiler suit. A vertical format image. Transparencies numbers PCT1247 to PCT1259 were taken on the same occasion.
