Inside the captain's day cabin or the officers' lounge on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Strathardle (1967) while alongside the fitting out berth of Mitsui Zosen at Tamano, Japan. The photographer is looking towards the door showing a settee, two easy chairs, a coffee table and a range of cupboards and shelves. The Strathardle ran trials on 7 January and was handed over to P & O on 20 January before sailing on her maiden voyage to London via Kobe, Yokohama and Hong Kong.
