A starboard bow view, taken from wide off the bow, of the Bank Line general cargo ship Tymeric (1919) alongside a wharf at Townsville, Queensland, Australia. She is discharging a part cargo of bagged ammonium sulphate fertiliser that was loaded at Billingham on Tees. A destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy is berthed astern of the Tymeric. The photographer was one of three apprentices serving on board the ship. Slide 26 from the "Apprentice Boy", Captain Henry P. Bird's lecture about his life as an apprentice for Bank Line in the period 1937-1941. The lecture consists of 39 slides.
