Scale 1:48. Plan shows the sheer lines, longitudinal half breadth and body plan for an Unnamed 225ft 3-masted armour clad turret ship as proposed by Cowper P. Coles, Captain, Royal Navy (1865). The title of the plan is "Sheer drawing of an Armour Clad Turret Ship on Capt C. P. Coles principle to carry two 600 pdr or two 300 pdr and four smaller guns per Admiralty Order of 12 December 1864". The plan bears the signatures of Cowper Phipps Coles [Captain Royal Navy 1819-1870] and Joseph Scullard [Head Draughtsman at Portsmouth Dockyard 1865]. There is a large tear on the left hand edge of the drawing.
