Winston Churchill, MP for Stretford, and Captain Swindells on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) while she is under sail off Hythe in Southampton Water. Churchill is standing on the starboard side of the bridge with the captain next to him. The Second Officer is to starboard of the centreline and a boy trainee is at the helm. A senior man of the Sail Training Association is standind behind Churchill. The mainsail has already been stowed and trainees are taking in the mizzen. Royal Navy coastal minesweepers are laid up off Hythe. The photographer is looking aft from the starboard side of the deckhouse top.
