A very distant starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the three-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) under sail in the Solent off Cowes. She has all nine of her fore-and-aft sails set and is in the Solent for the Tall Ships Race to the Skaw which started on 16 August 1972. Just ahead of her is the Portsmouth excursion vessel and ferry Gay Enterprise (1971). A number of small yachts, dinghies and motor leisure craft are in the picture.
