Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, inspecting girl trainees on board the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) while she is at moorings in Portsmouth Harbour. The girls are lined up on the port side of the foredeck by the ship's bulwark. The ship's Chief Officer is on the left with his back to the camera and Captain Griffiths is beyond him, looking at the Prince. The photographer is on the starboard side of the fore deck looking to port and slightly aft. The Royal Navy destroyer Carysfort (1944) is alongside Pitch House Jetty in the background.
