A close view of the forecastle deck, from the port side of the bow, of the wreck of the three-masted barquentine Mary Ann (1863) off Sandown Castle, The Downs, Kent. She was blown ashore in a SE Force 9 gale on 29 September 1899 while on a voyage from North Shields to Cherbourg with coal. Her foremast, sails, windlass and anchors are still on board. A note on the negative says the photographer was using Camera B. Negatives Numbers N18821 to N18827 were taken on the same day.
