Villagers in costume with their nautically themed float for the Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee parade in Halstead village, Essex. The float is standing in a commercial yard and comprises a two-oared clinker built boat mounted on a 4-wheeled cart. Edgar Tarry Adams is seated at the stern of the boat and he is in uniform and has a rosette on his coat. The other four young people in the boat may be related to Adams. The cart is pulled by four men and another three are standing at the back of the cart. All of the walkers are wearing white jackets and all of the persons in the picture, with the exception of E.T. Adams, are wearing the same type of headgear.
