The three boats drawn up on the beach are all owned by Edgar Tarry Adams. The two masted, lug rigged Sea Gull (1874), seen from off her starboard quarter, is dressed overall. On the right and seen from off the port bow are the single masted lugger Sandpiper (1899) and the single masted lugger Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) which is also dressed overall. Deal pier is in the left background beyond the boat house, which is also owned by Adams. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera A.
