A yacht, a dinghy and a wooden hut, all owned by Edgar Tarry Adams, on the beach at Walmer, Kent. To the left of centre is the two masted, lug-rigged yacht Sea Gull (1874), seen from off her port quarter and with her bow pointing towards the sea. Her masts have been unshipped and she is resting on supporting legs. At the water's edge is the single masted, lug rigged, dinghy Sandpiper (1899), seen from off her starboard bow. She is dressed overall. The beach hut is also dressed with two lines of signal flags and is flying the burgee of the Cambridge University Cruising Club. The photographer is looking to seaward from Marine Road alongside the promenade.
