A gang of seven men ploughing the beach at Walmer, Kent.

A gang of seven men ploughing the beach at Walmer, Kent. They are using a wooden plough to flatten out the ridges in the shingle. Six men are pulling the plough while one man is guiding it. At the water's edge is the single masted, lug rigged, dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890), seen from dead ahead. The person standing by her starboard side is Francis Norris Adams, the son of the photographer and the boat's owner. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera A.
