A slightly distant starboard quarter view of the tanker Manhattan (1961) alongside an oil jetty at Mina- Al-Ahmadi, Kuwait
A slightly distant starboard quarter view of the tanker Manhattan (1961) alongside an oil jetty at Mina- Al-Ahmadi, Kuwait. The words "Manhattan Wilmington, USA" are painted on the stern of the Manhattan. A second oil tanker is berthed on the far side of the oil jetty. The second tanker has a black funnel with a blue and white striped symbol on it. The name of the ship on the stern is illegible. A coastline is in the background on the far left hand side of the image. This is a duplicate transparency. This is Slide 48 of a lecture given by Captain Henry P. Bird detailing his service as Senior Second Officer and Navigator on board the tanker Malwa (1961), owned by the P&O Group, from 14 November 1963 to 9 March 1964. The lecture consists of 75 slides.
