A starboard quarter view of the two masted, lug rigged yacht Sea Gull (1874) on the shingle beach at Deal, Kent. She has been drawn up stern first. A man is sitting on the shingle next to the boat's ladder and two women are standing on the beach by the yacht's starboard side. A small boy, believed to be Francis Norris Adams, is sitting on the cabin roof. A number of Royal Navy warships, including monitors, torpedo boats and torpedo gunboats, are at anchor in The Downs.
