A starboard bow view of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) at anchor in The Downs, off Walmer, Kent. A lantern is fitted on a halyard attached to the unstayed mast. The four Adams family children, Francis Norris, Isabel Mary, Gordon and Pauline are in the boat and Francis is standing near the mast. Isabel is holding a hand fishing line. The top of the mast is out of the picture. Deal Pier is in the background. The Adams family referred to this boat as "the lifeboat".
