A port bow view of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) about to be launched from the beach at Walmer, Kent.
A port bow view of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) about to be launched from the beach at Walmer, Kent. Francis Norris Adams is at the oars and Miss Duncan is sitting by the mast. A man on the beach is pushing against the boat's bow. A number of sailing vessels are at anchor in The Downs. The Adams family referred to this boat as "the lifeboat". A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera A and the boat is about to go off fishing.
