A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) on the beach at Walmer, Kent.
A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) on the beach at Walmer, Kent. Edgar Tarry Adams is sitting in the boat with oars at the ready and his eldest daughter, Isabel Mary Adams, is waiting to get into the boat. Two men are standing at the bow of the boat ready to push her, stern first, into the water. The Adams family refer to this boat as "the lifeboat". A man and a woman are in a rowing boat just offshore and there are many ships at anchor on the skyline in The Downs.
