A slightly distant port bow view, taken from fine off the bow, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) being launched stern first from Walmer beach, Kent. Francis Norris Adams has the oars and one of his sisters, Pauline or Isabel Mary, is in the boat with him. A crewman is sitting on the bow, having given the boat a shove to get her into the water. The Adams family refer to this boat as "the lifeboat". A number of coastal sailing craft are passing south through The Downs. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera B.
