A port bow view, taken from wide off the bow, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) on the shingle about to be launched stern first from Walmer beach, Kent. Edgar Tarry Adams, dressed in foul weather gear, is in the boat with the oars ready while a man on the beach is pushing hard against the boat's bow. The Adams family refer to this boat as "the lifeboat". Shipping is in The Downs on the skyline and Deal Pier is in the left background. A note on the vertical format negative says the photographer is using Camera B..
