A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) on the shingle about to be launched from Walmer beach, Kent.

A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) on the shingle about to be launched stern first from Walmer beach, Kent. Edgar Tarry Adams is in the boat with the oars ready and a woman is seated in the boat. The boat is almost surrounded by onlookers, including children. The top of the mast is out of the picture. The Adams family refer to this boat as "the lifeboat". Deal pier is in the background. A note on the negative says this was taken in a strong breeze from the N.E.
