A slightly distant starboard bow view, taken from very fine off the bow, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) under sail about to hit the beach at Walmer, Kent.
A slightly distant starboard bow view, taken from very fine off the bow, of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) under sail about to hit the beach at Walmer, Kent. Her lug sail is boomed out to port and Edgar Tarry Adams is at the helm. The boat is driving through the surf. The Adams family refer to this boat as "the lifeboat". A steamship is on the skyline in The Downs. A note on the vertical format negative says this was taken in a strong breeze from the N.E.
