A general view of shipping in Bugsby's Reach, on the River Thames at Charlton. The photographer is on board an excursion vessel heading downstream in Woolwich Reach and he is looking back towards the Greenwich Peninsula The Norwegian barque Charlotte (1874), seen from off her port bow, is moored to buoys and she has painted ports. Moored further upstream, and seen from fine off her starboard quarter, is the Booth Line passenger/cargo liner Cuthbert (1906) with a spritsail barge alongside. A note on the negative says the photographer is using Camera A.
