A starboard bow view of the cross channel paddle ferry Foam (1862) alongside the quay in the Tidal Harbour at Dover, Kent. She is berthed port side to the quay and a canvas, possibly a sail or hatch cover, is being handled just abaft the foremast. The Lord Warden Hotel is in the background, note the enclosed walkway constructed 1896-1898 to link the Town Station with the west side of the hotel. A note on the negative says that the photographer is using Camera B.
