Goliath (1842)
Scale 1:48. Plan shows an aft gun deck proposal drawing for the Goliath (1842), a second rate of 80 guns. The title of the drawing is "Aft gun deck as proposed to be fitted for a screw". A note on the plan states that a copy of this plan was sent to Chatham Dockyard for the conversion of Goliath to a screw steam ship dated 14 February 1857. A second note states that a further copy of this drawing was sent to Sheerness Dockyard for the conversion of the Meeanee (1848) another second rate of 80 guns, to also be converted to a screw steam ship, dated 16 February 1857. The plan is fragile and torn in numerous places.
