Inside the centre bay in No. 1 Smithery in Chatham Dockyard, looking east from near the main double doors. Next to the dividing wall between the centre and north bays is the base of the furnace chimney in the 5 ton hammer shop, area A10. Scrap metal, steel plates and corrugated iron sheets are scattered about the floor. All of the ground floor windows have been boarded up internally.
