A close view of a range of tools in front of a B & S Massey Ltd steam hammer in one of the bays of Number 5 Machine Shop in Chatham Dockyard. The tools include various sizes of steel tongs and a number of the tools are weights that comprise a metal block at the end of a long shaft that has a circular shaped handle at the top. The shaft lengths and the sizes of the metal lump vary quite considerably and they are used for weighing down or manoeuvering hot plates. A vertical format image.
