A view of crushed cars on a lighter barge in Newark, New Jersey taken from the motor bulk carrier Wilkawa (1964). The numbers "DB5" are on the stern of the barge. A dilapidated grey building is abaft of the barges in the middle ground. There are two cranes in the middle ground currently loading a second lighter barge with more crushed cars to the left of the first barge. Numerous crushed cars, piles of metal are in the background. This is Slide 73 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the motor bulk carrier Wilkawa (1964) owned by Sir William Reardon Smith & Sons Ltd of Cardiff, from 17 May 1970 to 26 November 1970. This series consists of 83 slides.
