Covered parcels of sawn timber on board the bulk carrier London Explorer [ex Overseas Explorer] (1959) at sea. The photographer is standing on the port side of the upper bridge deck on the port side looking forward and to starboard. There are parcels of sawn timber covered with green tarpaulins on the port and starboard side of the deck extending from the bridge to the forecastle. There are uncovered parcels of timber lashed in the centre line. This is Slide 34 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Second Officer on board the bulk carrier London Explorer [ex Overseas Explorer] (1959), owned by London & Overseas Freighters Ltd. from 11 July 1972 to 16 October 1972. The series consists of 39 slides.
