A teleprinter is just to the left and below the porthole. An obscured view of a port is visible through the porthole. There is a covered JRC [Japan Radio Company] satellite navigation system mounted on the right hand wall of the image. This is Slide 24 of a series of slides detailing Captain H. Bird's service as Watchkeeping Officer for the cable ship John W. Mackay (1922) owned by Commercial Cable Company of London from 16 December 1974 to 21 March 1975. This series consists of 45 slides.
