Shipping in the Thames estuary
A distant starboard quarter view, taken from very fine off the stern, of an unidentified general cargo ship under way in the Thames estuary. She is emitting a thin column of smoke from her funnel as her single propeller thrashes the water. Another steamer is ahead of her. In the left background is a sailing ship which has three rectangular topsails set. She may be a topsail schooner, barquentine or brigantine. Vertical format.
