The Medway Sea Scouts training vessel Penguin (fl.1925) under sail on the Medway, Kent.
A port side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Medway Sea Scouts training vessel under sail on the River Medway, Kent. The vessel is rigged as a two masted topsail schooner and is a conversion from an unknown type of wooden built boat. She is approximately sixty feet long, has a small leeboard below the foremast chains and a transom stern with large external wooden rudder. Her skipper is at the steering wheel abaft the cabin which is abaft the mainmast. A large rectangular port is cut in the hull between the mast chains and two circular scuttles are at the bow. There is a non-decipherable name on the bow. She is wearing a defaced red ensign, possibly defaced by a fleur-de-lis logo. Vertical format. (See notes)
