A bow view of the shattered wreck of the Eyemouth based fishing lugger James & Robert (1878) BK916 under the cliffs near Burnmouth, Berwickshire. The vessel is laying on her starboard side and only the bow section has survived. Miraculously only one life was lost from the six man crew. A man is standing by the boat's stem. On 14 Oct. 1881 27 fishing vessels were lost off or near St Abb's Head in a NNE force 12 hurricane with a death toll of well over 120. A copy negative of a photographic print.
