Tenby luggers

The same scene depicted in negative P75482 shows the carvel-built Tenby lugger Florence, regd. M81, viewed bow-on, with the same man again facing the camera with an elbow resting on the port leg. The Florence's heavy mainsail gaff rests on the gunwale at the bow. To the left and beyond the Florence four boats are visible, including two auxiliary boats, one of which may be another fishing vessel; one sailing yacht and one motor launch. Two clinker-built motor boats are visible on the right. The relatively shallow fore section of the Florence's hull is emphased in this picture, which also highlights the prominence of its vertical stem.
