Portsmouth fishing vessels

The port side of a carvel-built Portsmouth open or half-decked inshore sailing fishing boat, regd P51, is shown in Portsmouth harbour moored near the Fraser & White coal and building materials depot. The standing rigging of the gaff-rigged boat, which carries a bowsprit, is festooned with drying fishing nets. A clinker-built tender is moored to port of P51. To the left of the image is the stern of a further Portsmouth fishing vessel, bearing the registration P160.
