Polperro fishing boats at Polperro

Facing the camera bow-on, a ca. 19ft carvel-built, gaff cutter-rigged fishing boat regd.PP233 lies alongside a quay in Polperro harbour, with a clinker-built boat of some 13ft tied to its port side. This latter has spars resting across its thwarts on the port side, suggesting it may have been sailed as well as rowed or sculled, as two sets of thwarts and a sculling rest in the transom attest. A man stands attending to ropes on the quay above the boats to the left.
