The Fowey-registered carvel-built gaff cutter Snowdrop, ca. 19ft on deck, is viewed from above and astern, from atop a quay in Polperro harbour. The jaws of its boom and gaff and its furled mainsail are hoisted high up the mast to clear space for work on deck. Its bowsprit has been withdrawn inboard. The Snowdrop is half-decked but the negative makes the layout of the foredeck, working space aft of the mast, and fish hold aft of that, hard to decipher. Immediately ahead of the Snowdrop but bows-on is another, similar boat with a fish basket on deck. Further beyond these two boats is a third, regd. FY164, seen from the port side, moored side-on to the facing quay.
