A Hindu temple car (or chariot) on an Indian street
A black and white portrait photograph of a temple car (or chariot) on an Indian street. The car is roughly egg-shaped and has highly decorated sides, which includes tiered fabric bands and flags. Representations of two Hindu deities can be seen on the front. A crowd of people, probably part of a procession, can be seen on the left side of the photograph, with buildings behind them. Part of the opposite side of the street, which features two awnings, is also visible. Trees are visible in the background, further down the street. Original caption (beneath, in ink): ‘Hindu Temple Car’.
