The Whitburn coble SD12 beached at Whitburn, Durham.

A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of a Whitburn coble showing how this type of boat could be brought ashore on a shelving beach stern first. Her port registration is SD12 and she has three men aboard. Her mast is stowed and her oars are resting on the bulwarks. A duplicate negative produced by Saxons, 7 New Durham Road, Sunderland, in March 1972 from the original taken by Mr Stanley Hutchinson's father.
