An inscribed silver plate presented to Wang Ta-jen on board HMS Porpoise (1886)
An inscribed silver plate and presentation case below decks aboard the 3rd class protected cruiser Porpoise (1886) at Makung, Pescadores. The inscription reads: "Presented by the British Government to Wang Ta-jen, Acting Brigadier-General of the Pescadores, in acknowledgement of his humanity and kindness to the survivors of the passengers and crew of the Steam Ship "Bokhara" of Greenock which was wrecked on Sand Island, Pescadores on the 10th October 1892."
