A Thornycroft V/12 marine petrol engine in the Hampton boatyard
A starboard broadside view of a completed Thornycroft V/12, 250 bhp, petrol engine mounted on a wooden transport cradle on the quayside of the Thornycroft boatyard on Platt's Eyot at Hampton-on-Thames. A label of the cradle shows that this engine was transported by road from Thornycroft's Basingstoke Works on 4 May 1916. Painted on the cradled is J.I.T. B 1386 MO/.
