A mess hall in a military hospital in Mesopotamia
The interior of a mess hall in a Mesopotamian military hospital. The room has a multi-domed roof supported on brick-built side walls and stone pillars. Two male staff, one reading and one writing, are sitting on cane chairs at wooden tables. One of the table legs is standing in an "H. Jones & Co, Hobart" fruit tin. There are two oil lamps, one basic and one very decorative, suspended from the roof.
