A portrait of an unidentified, middle-aged man in the garden of a house. He is standing with his bicycle and is wearing a jacket and waistcoat over a white shirt with turned down, round cornered collar and a tie. He has a flower in his button hole and is wearing cycle clips. He has dark hair and a drooping moustache. The bicycle is a diamond framed machine with pneumatic tyres. It has a cable rear brake but no front brake, toe clips on the pedals, a rear carrier, two bells on the handlebars and a lamp bracket. A thermometer is on the brick wall behind him. Vertical format.
