This study of mountains was probably made in the Swiss Alps near Grindelwald. It demonstrates Wyllie's almost scientific fascination with the effects of weather, in this case cloud swirling around snow-clad mountains. When working in this way Wyllie sometimes achieved results with an abstract quality.
