Our Fathers [page 2]
Medium includes graphite. PAF2128 (no photo) is likely to be the previous page of this set of versions which comprise PAF2128-PAF2131. This is page 2 and the text, in Wyllie's hand, here begins 'So they fought, explored, discovered' and ends 'We, alas, have none of theirs'. It relates to other studies for this poem: see PAF0661. Another set of versions are nos. PAF0929-PAF0932. The illustration at top left here showing an assault on a Spanish or Portuguese carrack, has an annotation by the artist :'This smaller'. The one immediately below appears to show the entrance to Rio de Janeiro. For the etched and published versions of the set, see PAF2157-PAF2161. [PvdM 2/13]
