Harbour scene, Palermo, with the Castello Utveggio
Previously entitled 'Harbour scene' this appears to show sailing vessels and Sicilian fishing boats at Palermo with the Castello Utveggio on the lower heights of Monte Pellegrino behind, to the west. This building - 346 metres above the sea- is not military but was constructed as a spectacularly sited hotel overlooking the city (out of frame to the left) between 1927 and 1933.
