The America Schooner, 170 Tons, winning the Royal Yacht Squadron Cup & passing the Victoria & Albert off the Needles, Friday August 22nd 1851
A print depicting the 'America', in broadside view from her port side, winning the Royal Yacht Squadron Cup in August, 1851. The race was the result of a challenge issued by the Commodore of the NYYC, Mr J C Stevens, the head of a syndicate who had commissioned George Steers to design 'America'. Hand-coloured lithograph.
